Craving for Thai Crabmeat Fried Rice

Dok Khao Tai Eatery Inside Restaurant

Every once in a while, I have a really bad case of Thai food cravings. We used to frequent Thai at Laurel, but ever since Dok Khao Thai Eatery opened in Columbia – that’s pretty much been my go-to place and the only thing I order there is the crab meat fried rice. When it comes to fried rice, the most important this is the texture – it cannot be too wet or too dry; I think this place just does it so well! Hubby always has a hard time deciding what to eat here – he loves the Duck Curry from Thai at Laurel, but the closest thing they have to it here is the Lychee Duck Curry – which isn’t quite the same for him.

Appetizer: Calamari

As far as spices go, I think this place does their levels of spices pretty well. Usually, when I go to Thai places and order “extra spicy” – it’s almost never spicy enough, but here I get a level 4 spicy (on a scale of 5) and it burns just enough! I can still eat it but I still need a giant glass of water to go with my meal – just how I like it.

Also this place is really cute inside – it reminds me of the Singapore’s Gardens by the Bay with all of its greeneries and florals. Now they just need a Happy Hour menu and I may grab a quick early dinner here more often!
